Dr. Banon David Fada

Dr. Banon David Fada is a seasoned banking and financial regulation professional with over 24 years of experience spanning commercial banking and central banking functions. Until recently, he served as a Principal Manager (Assistant Director) in the Human Resources Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria, where he contributed to talent development, competency management, and career progression frameworks within the institution.

Over the course of his career, Banon has played a key role in major institutional reforms, including the design and implementation of competency and career management systems, as well as the administration of large-scale staff welfare initiatives. His work reflects a strong blend of strategic HR leadership, policy development, and operational delivery.

He also served in the Consumer Protection Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria, where he contributed to strengthening financial inclusion and consumer protection. Notably, he supported the development of Nigeria’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy and National Financial Literacy Framework, and led efforts to resolve complex consumer complaints and improve customer outcomes within the banking system.

Earlier in his career, Banon held roles at Unity Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc, where he gained broad experience across operations, investment banking, public sector engagement, and branch management.

He holds multiple academic qualifications, including a PhD in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy, an MSc in Data Analytics and Human Resource Management from Arden University (UK), an MSc in Finance and Management from the University of Exeter (UK), an MBA, and an MPhil in Management.

As a member of the UHAF Beneficiary Selection Committee, Banon brings strong analytical capability, governance insight, and a deep understanding of financial systems. He supports the Committee’s work in ensuring that beneficiary selection is transparent, merit-based, and aligned with the Foundation’s commitment to accountability and sustainable impact.
