Habiba Aminu is an experienced banking professional with over 18 years of progressive leadership across Nigeria’s financial services sector. She brings to UHAF’s Beneficiary Selection Committee strong expertise in credit assessment, business growth strategy, risk management, and performance-driven leadership.
During her tenure as Branch Manager at Jaiz Bank Plc, Habiba led the Mararaba Branch in Nasarawa State to achieve over 100% growth in both deposits and risk assets. Her leadership was defined by disciplined portfolio management, structured profitability planning, and a clear focus on sustainable growth. Prior to this, she held key roles at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Access Bank Plc, and Assurance Bank Plc, where she developed deep experience in commercial banking, credit generation, public sector marketing, and customer relationship management.
Habiba is known for her balanced judgement, attention to detail, and commitment to responsible financial stewardship. Her background in non-interest banking and credit risk analysis positions her well to assess enterprise viability, repayment discipline, and long-term sustainability, critical considerations in UHAF’s revolving loan model.
She holds an MSc in Management from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. She is also pursuing professional certification with the Chartered Institute of Banking of Nigeria (CIBN).
As a member of the Beneficiary Selection Committee, Habiba contributes financial prudence, structured evaluation, and a growth-oriented perspective to UHAF’s selection process. Her role supports the Foundation’s commitment to fairness, accountability, and empowering young entrepreneurs with both opportunity and responsibility.
